Good morning!
Wow, it’s been a busy couple of weeks at the Club. If you didn’t make it down, you missed a lot! Here's what happened:
We hosted close to 60 midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in two groups, first from the Annapolis to Bermuda race and the second from the Newport to Bermuda race.
We were the start and finish – and party central - for this year’s Round the Island Seagull Race.
We hosted Fitted Dinghy Racing.
And of course celebrated the Queen’s Birthday/Hero’s Day with a delicious dinner followed by dancing.
A good time, we think, was had by all! Thanks to all who helped out at the various events. If you haven’t had chance yet to donate some time to our Club this year, please be reminded that there is a to-do list. Just ask the vice-commodore!
Here are some notes:
Tomorrow, Wednesday June 27, the Club will open late at 5:00.
Thursday Potlucks will run through the summer; the grill goes on at 6:30. Bring whatever you want to grill and a side to share- please be green if possible and bring reusable plates. There is also a Membership Meeting this week.
Friday’s Membership Draw continues… David Young was drawn last week but was not there so the pot grew again.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Regards,
Lisa Siese
